Good information for this important voting period. So crucial that you and others have volunteered (even though you are paid) to take on this vital role in our elections.
I'm so glad you explained this to me! I had no idea you were paired with a "buddy" from another party--or that they even asked you your party affiliation. Fascinating! And thanks for doing your bit.
My mom worked as a poll worker for a couple years, but those 15-hour days were too much for an 80-year old.
My own experience with local poll workers is that they're really nice people--but for a couple years, there was a "bossy-pants" older woman who was a bit grouchy. My spouse and I always had a bit of a laugh about her, and I kind of missed her when she wasn't there anymore. It was part of the experience!
That's too funny, Wini. I've encountered some of those "bossy pants" people at training, and I just sit back and watch them. People-watching opportunities are everywhere! Good for your mom, but I agree that those days can be difficult sometimes. The hardest part for me? Where I work it is FREEZING all day long and that's a long time to be cold. This time, it will be many layers and Uggs for me!

Thanks for doing it, and for sharing!
